- 6 cups of rice crispies cereal
- 1 bag of marshmallows (10 oz)
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- Green and red food coloring
- Christmas sprinkles

- Large mixing bowl
- Medium saucepan
- 9x13 inch baking pan
- Wooden spoon or spatula
Method
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until fully melted and combined.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add 2-3 drops of green food coloring to the marshmallow mixture and stir until evenly colored.
- Add the rice crispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until fully coated.
- Transfer half of the rice crispy mixture to the greased baking pan and press down firmly with a spatula or your hands.
- Add 2-3 drops of red food coloring to the remaining rice crispy mixture and stir until evenly colored.
- Transfer the red rice crispy mixture to the baking pan and press down firmly on top of the green layer.
- Sprinkle Christmas sprinkles on top of the rice crispy squares and let cool for 30 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
