- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 6 cups of chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 bay leaf

Method
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, celery, and carrots. Cook until the vegetables are softened, stirring occasionally.

- Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 40 minutes, or until the wild rice is tender.
