Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 4 Eggs, boiled and peeled
  • 1 large Onion, sliced
  • 1 large Tomato, chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies, slit
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 cup Mint Leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves, chopped
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  1. Wash the basmati rice in cold water and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Boil the eggs in a separate pot for 10 minutes and then peel and keep them aside.
  3. Switch on the rice cooker and add oil to it.
  4. Add sliced onions and green chilies to the rice cooker and fry them till the onions turn golden brown.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and fry till they turn soft.
  7. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder to the rice cooker and mix well.
  8. Add chopped mint and coriander leaves to the rice cooker and mix well.
  9. Drain the water from the soaked rice and add it to the rice cooker.
  10. Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
  11. Cover the rice cooker with its lid and let it cook till the rice is done.
  12. Once the rice is done, switch off the rice cooker and let it cool for a few minutes.
  13. Add the boiled eggs to the rice cooker and mix gently.
  14. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
