- 1/4 cup oil
- Fresh coriander for garnish

Method
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry onions until golden brown.
- Add garlic and green chilies and fry for a minute.
- Add cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Fry for a minute.
- Add 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
- Drain the water from the rice and add it to the boiling water. Stir well.
- Cover the pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water has evaporated.
- In a separate pan, heat oil and fry the sliced onions until golden brown.
- Add the fried onions to the cooked rice and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
