Ingredients

  • 2 cups of glutinous rice

  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh mango slices (optional)

Equipment

  • A rice cooker
  • A medium-sized pot

Method

  1. Wash the glutinous rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Drain the water from the rice and place it in a rice cooker.
  4. Add 2 cups of water to the rice cooker and cook the rice.
  5. While the rice is cooking, heat the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a pot over medium heat.
  6. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves.
  7. When the rice is done cooking, pour the coconut milk mixture over the rice.
  8. Stir the rice and coconut milk mixture together until the rice is fully coated.
  9. Cover the pot with a lid and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to let the rice absorb the coconut milk.
  10. Serve the rice in bowls and top with sesame seeds and fresh mango slices (optional).

Notes

  • Make sure to use glutinous rice for this recipe, as regular rice won't work.
  • You can add more or less sugar depending on your taste preferences.
