Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 500 grams Minced Chicken
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 cup Mixed Vegetables (carrots, beans, peas)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Water
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves for garnish

Equipment

  • A large pot with a tight-fitting lid
  • A wooden spoon
  • A sharp knife
  • A cutting board

Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add minced chicken and cook until it turns brown and releases its juices.
  6. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and red chili powder. Mix well.
  7. Add mixed vegetables and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix well.
  9. Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
  10. Lower the heat and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water has been absorbed.
  11. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  12. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

  • Make sure to soak the rice for at least 20 minutes to get fluffy and separate grains.
