Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and peanuts.
  2. Once the mustard seeds start to pop, add cashews and raisins.
  3. Add sesame seeds and grated coconut and roast until golden brown.
  4. Add tamarind paste and salt and cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the cooked rice and mix well.
  6. Cook for a few more minutes until the rice is heated through.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot.
