Ingredients

For this recipe, you'll need:
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Few coriander leaves, chopped

Equipment

  • A pan with lid
  • A spoon
  • A knife
  • A cutting board

Method

  1. Wash rice and soak in water for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions, green chillies, and ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Saute until onions turn translucent.
  4. Now add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add soaked rice and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Add water and bring it to a boil.
  7. Lower the flame, and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook for 18-20 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, boil eggs for 10 minutes and remove the shells.
  9. Once the rice is cooked, add boiled eggs and mix well.
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or pickle.

Notes

  • Make sure to soak the rice for at least 10 minutes before cooking.
  • Adjust the quantity of green chillies as per your taste preference.
  • You can also add vegetables like peas, carrots, and beans to make it more nutritious.
  • For a richer taste, you can add a dollop of ghee while cooking.
