For this recipe, you'll need:- 1 cup basmati rice
- 3 eggs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Few coriander leaves, chopped
Equipment
- A pan with lid
- A spoon
- A knife
- A cutting board
Method
- Wash rice and soak in water for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions, green chillies, and ginger-garlic paste.
- Saute until onions turn translucent.
- Now add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Add soaked rice and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add water and bring it to a boil.
- Lower the flame, and cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook for 18-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, boil eggs for 10 minutes and remove the shells.
- Once the rice is cooked, add boiled eggs and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or pickle.
Notes
- Make sure to soak the rice for at least 10 minutes before cooking.
- Adjust the quantity of green chillies as per your taste preference.
- You can also add vegetables like peas, carrots, and beans to make it more nutritious.
- For a richer taste, you can add a dollop of ghee while cooking.
