For the Veg Manchurian balls:- 1 cup grated cabbage
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
- 1/4 cup chopped spring onions
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1/2 cup cornflour
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
- 1/4 cup chopped spring onions
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste

- A deep frying pan
- A wok or kadhai
- A pressure cooker
Method
Making Veg Manchurian Balls:
- In a mixing bowl, add grated cabbage, grated carrot, chopped onion, chopped capsicum, chopped spring onions, ginger-garlic paste, all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, red chili powder, and black pepper powder.
- Mix all the ingredients well and make small balls out of the mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan and deep fry the balls until they turn golden brown.
- Take out the fried balls and keep them aside.
- Wash the Basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
- Once the cumin seeds start crackling, add chopped onion, chopped capsicum, chopped spring onions, and ginger-garlic paste.
- Saute for a minute and add red chili powder, soy sauce, vinegar, and salt.
- Mix well and add the soaked rice.
- Stir for a minute and add water.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
- Let the pressure release naturally.
- In a wok or kadhai, heat 2 tbsp oil and add the cooked rice.
- Stir well and add the fried Veg Manchurian balls.
- Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
- You can add other vegetables like beans, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the Veg Manchurian balls.
- You can adjust the spice level according to your taste.
- Make sure the rice is not overcooked, or it will become mushy.
