  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add cumin seeds and fry for a minute.
  4. Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Fry until the onions are golden brown.
  5. Add tomatoes, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add minced chicken and cook until it is browned and cooked through.
  7. Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
  8. Drain the rice and add it to the pot. Stir well.
  9. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
  10. After 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit for 10 minutes.
  11. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot.

Notes

This dish can be made with beef or lamb instead of chicken. Adjust the cooking time accordingly.
