- 2 pounds of chicken, cut into pieces

- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 cups of water

Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Place the chicken in the mixing bowl with the spices. Rub the spices into the chicken until it is well coated. Set aside.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the Basmati rice to the pot and stir until it is well coated with the onion and garlic mixture.
- Add the water to the pot and stir. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
- While the rice is cooking, place the chicken in a baking dish. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and remove the foil. Place the chicken on top of the cooked rice.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
